Learning disabilities

Have a disability is more than just being different, is not being accepted by other people and also educators without the enough knowledge about the theme, can make wrong assumptions.

A learning disability According to the Coordinated Campaign for Learning Disabilities “is a neurological disorder. In simple terms, a learning disability results from a difference in the way a person's brain is "wired." Children with learning disabilities are as smart as or smarter than their peers. But they may have difficulty reading, writing, spelling, reasoning, recalling and/or organizing information if left to figure things out by them or if taught in conventional ways”.
We have to understand as Teachers that a Learning disability is something you are born with an if we have a student that can’t get concentrated or has some kind of  behavioral disorder, we have to look for special help in this case a Psychologist.
Here there is also a video abouth the types of learning disabilities:

They also said “A learning disability can't be cured or fixed; it is a lifelong issue. With the right support and intervention, however, children with learning disabilities can succeed in school and go on to successful, often distinguished careers later in life”.
Parents can help children with learning disabilities achieve such success by encouraging their strengths, knowing their weaknesses, understanding the educational system, working with professionals and learning about strategies for dealing with specific difficulties.

Here there is a video of how to recognize that a student has a learning sisability:

We have to understand and recognize that we can’t solve all the problems that our learners have and if we need a psychologist in order to help our students, we have to do it. Every single human being is intelligent, unfortunately there are some disorders that make students be frustrated because they feel that they are normal or feel part of the group.

We can’t only teach knowledge to our students if not we have to help them to be part of the group “the society”, there’s nothing that humans can’t do so we have to show them that they are equal as everyone else and that they are capable to be good in order to help themselves and their society.

Finally we can also help our students  to understand to live with their disabilities and that they can be as normal as anyone else
